I found out that I was accepted into MUEP Japanese but am seriously considering whether it is truly worth my time...
Last year i completed two unit 3&4 subjects:
Japanese: 46 RAW
International Studies: 34 RAW
This year is will be completing (predicted SS:
English (40)
Accounting (45)
Methods (43)
Specialist (40)
For uni I am thinking about either commerce at Melbourne or going to ANU in Canberra.
I honestly love Japanese, but I would be having to travel over an hour each way to get to Monash and am wondering if it would be better to concentrate more on my 3&4 subjects to maximise those marks...? I feel that if I did Japanese again I might get carried away and put too much of my time into the one study...
I already hold JLPT level 2 so I don't need to prove my Japanese abilty.
Presuming that I would get 5.5, do people think that it would be worthwhile to my ENTER score for me to do the MUEP?

You were accepted into MUEP Japanese.
I think you should focus on VCE instead of the uni subject.
-
Would you be able to use the MUEP Japanese credit in one of your potential uni courses?
Five subjects in year 12 is managable.
Four is even more so, just depends on how productive you'll be!
-
Well if you are planning to continue Japanese in uni after year 12 then i would say you should go for it, how much time did you spend on VCE Japanese 3/4? Im assuming you are pretty good at it, seeing your credientials anyways MUEP Japanese is like JLPT 3 and since you have already done JLPT 2 then i assume that this would be pretty easy for you. Have you seen the course outline on the monash enhancement program website?
I reckon you should go for it, it would be an easy 5 at least for you, however if you have another VCE subject you are interested then its up to you...

do it! do it! (takes glasses off)* DO IT!
-
definitely do it. Don't do it for the increment, don't do it for the sake of doing it. Do it for the experience, do it for the change of environment, do it to try to get the top prize, do it to meet like minded people, do it to expand your horizons.....
just do it :)

Mao,
Just out of interest, what is the top prize?

$500, a watch. Not really much. BUT it is a great achievement, like the premier's award.

If I recall, the watch was quite feminine.

Aww. No fair. UMEP only gives you a $120 gift voucher and a pretty certificate.
