Title: will i be disadvantaged ?

well anyway i picked up bio 3/4 as of today and i've bought my textbook, seems relatively straight foward. So anyway, am i disadvantaged in not doing units 1/2?

not really, most subjects can be picked up from 3&4 apart from LOTEs

Not at all, I didn't do 1/2 Bio and jumped right into 3/4 Bio as well and I didn't find myself disadvantaged at all.  Experimental technique might be unfamiliar to you, but you'll get used to it quickly.

Bio is generally quite straightforward, lots of memorising and practice exams!

ya went out and got it this morning. I exchanged it for my chem book. it cost $72 i was like wtf? but ahh well, i'll finish chapter one this week and yaaa we'll see what happens. It's great so far, i mean it's got a lot of shit from chem, like atoms and neutrons shells and all.

Yeah I'd reckon you would be ok. Reading through the 3/4 textbook, it looks as though it covers the same basic concepts of units 1 and 2 but expands on them a fair bit. So a few things will be unfamiliar, but with a tiny bit of extra work you'd be able to pick it up. It's a lot of memory based stuff, and a fair bit easier than chem...anyways, good luck man, good to see another '09 bio kid as well  :)

its basically all ROTE learning. As long as you have a good textbook and good memory should be ok. No disadvantage at all.

Wouldn't think there would be any disadvantage. Unit Two Biology is almost unrelated to Units 3 and 4 anyway

i was lookin through unit 3 .. it's practically the same as unit 1...... i was reading through the book.. and if i didn't do unit 1
i would of been so lost.. but maybe cause that was my book is crap... it's heinman

nah i'm up to chapter 3 and it's easy.
