Title: Previous Post - Timetabling?
Post by: ice_blockie on February 14, 2009, 07:31:43 pm
Sorry if this post seems lazy, but I faintly remember a post about lectures and tutorials apparently finishing 5 to the hour and starting 5 past the hour or something to allow travel between buildings? Am I imagining things so can someone correct me?

That is correct, generally.

You are not imagining things. For the most part, that is correct.

That would be good then...

Are there any penalties (e.g. considered absent) if we turn up late for tutorials/lectures??

They do not take attendance at lectures (with 200 people in there, how would they?)

Could have scanners for ID's at the entrance to all lectures? :P

The only penalty is that the lecturer/tutor may embarrass you, ask you to leave, or not help you as much. For some subjects, attendance of a certain number of tutorials is a requirement, so if your tutor doesn't like you, they may mark you as absent if you arrive too late.
