I bought this guy's u3 exam. It was well made. Difficult - only got 78/91. Expecting the lecture to be awesome too!

I went to the ACCESS education one at Bendigo and to be honest it was disappointing, seeing this is my favourite subject. We were given the wrong lecturer as our original one became sick and it took an hour longer than expected. He than decided it wasn't necessary to talk about the research methods as we had ran out of time.

Sorry guys. Thanks slumdawg. :3

Yeah, going to ConnectEd as well :P
I went to TSFX on the holidays and it was also disappointing...We had two lecturers, the first one was okay but the second one was horrible. He kept getting confused during the lecture and the lecture notebook he gave us was all mixed together and muddled up.

I went to the connect ed lecture for chem in the middle of the year and it was eaasssiilly the best I'd been too. Really well organised and something different to the old boring lectures with teachers.

I reckon this lecture will be just as good, all the guys seem really motivated and I find are a lot more helpful and understanding about our situation than the teachers/lecturers ever will :P

I think most lectures are a waste of time.. I went to a unit 3 psych lecture that my teacher recommend and it did not help me and my class mates at all.. waste of $50. I got an A on the exam.. I think what helps the most is doing heaps of practice exams.

i prefer answering questions in prac exams than actually reading over theory and learning if you get what i mean.

Obviously answering Q's is helpful which is why I'm going to ConnectEd. Read the blurb on the link I posted.

The lecturer himself told me he's going to spend a huge chunk of the lecture going through harder questions including the ones he puts in his exams. That's what I really need, practice with different questions. + I know his style anyway - VCAA specific, boosts one's SS basically.

...beast.

Hmm, so many connected replies! Are there any other companies doing psych lectures? i'd like to see the competition. :P

Yeah there's heaps of others. Just do a google search and you can get info on most of the other companies. Quite a few people on here have tried most of the others though like access, tsfx, neap, tssm and pathways2genius. Simply put, most people didn't like any of them. I would say pathways is probably the only other good option, but be warned one lecturer is good while the other is very very bad.

i went to the pathways education one with Ross Down and Roger Edwards. Thought Ross Down wouldve been better but it felt kind of rushed with the lecture being 4 hours in total. Roger Edwards was good with explaining how to approach extended answer but other than that felt like i wasted $50. monash uni caulfield campus lecture theatres arent up to scratch either

Are you the ConnectEd lecturer? :)

I think I might end up going to it, but the ConnectEd one seems ot be focusing more on exam technique, which I don't think I need..

haha sure am :)

Um, there will definitely be references on how to answer questions properly and stuff. Which I guess is exam technique but that won't be my sole focus. I'm splitting up the lecture whereby 60% will be explaining the content and the other 40% will be doing actual questions. This should give you a good balance, and keep everybody happy since some people want a focus on revising the content while others want to be more practical and do questions. Furthermore the lecture notes will feature comprehensive overviews of all parts of the course as well as extra questions for you to do at home.

But if that still doesn't sound appealing let me know what you'd like to focus on since I can still change some stuff in my lecture... so I'm open to suggestions!

Hope to see you there! :) If you wanna go with friends PM me cos I can get you group discounts too.

I went To TSFX for Unit 3, they were good the lecturers were VCAA examiners and gave us a few hints on what they thought was going to be in it. I reccomend people should go there if they want.

@sarah: the things they would would be in the exam, did it turn out to be true? do they somehow know or its merely a guess?

Yes, the exam-writing panel and the multitude of exam assessors (and indeed the chief) are completely distinct.
