Title: Text response, quick question!
Post by: Chromeo33 on September 10, 2011, 07:29:01 pm
For text responses, is it generally better to start off your body with your 'strongest' argument, or your 'weakest' and gradually strengthen your response?

Personally, I would normally end with my strongest argument, concluding in a stronger, more positive fashion. I've also found that if I feel an argument is particularly weak or soft that giving it an especially strong topic sentence can save + add additional marks the content itself won't provide.

I think it is best to start off strong, then put your weaker argument in the middle, and then finish with another strong point.

I don't think you should decide order based on which argument is "strongest" but based on how they logically flow into one another.

In my opinion, go with
...start off strong, then put your weaker argument in the middle, and then finish with another strong point.
but make sure
...they logically flow into one another.

I asked my teacher and she said the 10/10s have three equally strong arguments.

basically - y would you use a "WEAK" argument?

Touché.

Not really a 'weak' argument, just like a relatively weak point compared to your other paragraphs.
