I'll most likely do expository - which is probably the most popular format.

I've been told that the majority of expository essays become repetitive and boring for examiners to mark esp. when its "Encountering Conflict - Crucible" and examiners like any human beings become bored of marking similar things over and over again so your essay cant stand out as much and its more difficult  to attain 8,9 or 10 for expository pieces

Personally, i'm gonna write a news article which i think is kinda a hybrid of the three.

Hahaha yep we're doing encountering conflict as well.... But i guess if your points are meaningful then you'll still be able to get those high scores. I might experiment with some different styles of expository but i like writing the plain essays :P

I usually write in the persuasive form, but recently I've been experimenting with the expository style (probably because it's easier).

Unless you're a brilliant writer, expository is the way to go IMO. I think it's more difficult to persuade someone than to inform. So for people like me who are content with an average SS for english, expository is more likely to get me the "average marks" instead of possibly getting below average on a persuasive piece because it simply doesn't persuade the reader.

An imaginative story is too risky unless your regurgitated piece is related to the prompt. What happens when the themes in your story are significantly different to the key words in the encountering conflict prompt? GG VCE...unless of course you are naturally talented.

A lot of people hybrid expos/imaginative and it works much better than one form by itself.

I did persuasive/expository for Identity and Belonging and they loved it (got 18/20). Do what suits you, not what others are doing.

Untrue - can vouch for my old school, where 90% of kids did expository, and where there were generally around 100 or so 40+ scores every year...

I did that form for all my context pieces.

I'm doing a expository/creative, I think you need to add a little flare to your work straight up expository just seems to plain.
