Title: About wavelengths?

Is it shorter wavelengths travel faster or longer wavelengths?

The velocity is dependent on two variables, frequency and wavelength - not wavelength alone.

The speed of sound under particular conditions is constant. That means that if wavelength increases, the frequency will decrease in order for speed to remain constant.

what about in optical fibres?
like single mode fibres, multimode fibres (step-index/graded index)
