Just wondering what topics should i be concerned about completing in GMA
to prepare myself for next year?
and do you we have to know about direct/indirect/ joint and part variation?
-
Unit 2 predominately.
Variation is like...not even 'spesh'-hard. Like I think that just assumed knowledge?
-
ive never even heard of variation...
-
Me neither...
But the relevant stuff for units 3 and 4 are your trig functions (double angle formulas and whatnot), vectors, complex numbers and kinematics, which i guess pretty much covers the entire year...
As long as you have covered those you should be fine.

CHECK THE RESOURCES THREAD! :P
TOPICS IN GMA RELEVANT FOR SPECIALIST MATHS 3+4:
• Vectors
• Algebra (also draw from Methods knowledge)
• Quadratics and rates (also in Methods 1+2 textbooks)
• Partial Fractions - if you need help
• Complex Numbers (i, cis, z=x+yi, de Moivre's, etc.) - basic help
• Dynamics (forces, equilibrium, coefficient of friction, etc.)
• Kinematics (displacement, velocity, acceleration, etc.)
• Loci (and associated graphs)
• Trig (rules, identities and graphs) - sample problems
• Angles (all those rules and circle geometry -none of the 'bisecting a line with a protractor' rubbish though)
• Shapes (volumes, surface areas, ratios, 3D vs 2D, etc.)
• Sequences and Series (helps with problem solving, although not necessary)

wow... thanks guys.
Just one more question:
How much do you guys think is a sufficient amount of spesh to cover the summer holidays
to reduce stress when school starts? like 4-5 chapters.... more or lesss...

tbh, spesh isn't as stressful as it is made out to be and I don't think doing more than 4 chapters will be too beneficial (you're likely to forget it anyway or learn stuff without short-cuts, etc.). Do more methods over summer break, as it is mostly the same as 1+2 (except prob).
[edit] btw, I think my younger brother knows you :P

thanks pi:D
yea i thought so too.. i had a feeling that you were <redacted> if im not mistaken ?
Btw would you be any chance have a pdf copy of Essental General Mathematics Advanced.. because the Heinemein is ridicolously
bad?
