Title: SS Prediction?
Post by: seretide on October 07, 2011, 08:15:34 pm
Hey guys!

I'm not sure how to correctly state my scores that I have for this year in the GA1 or whatever..

But, so far after completing all sacs, I've received all high A's - almost touching A+ - and on the last sac, I basically screwed up for various reasons and just passed... I think it's a D, but yeah..

If I kill the exam, almost getting full marks, what would you predict my study score to be? I'm stressing that the last sac destroyed my chances for high 30's and above after my teacher said my average mark for this year might now be around C...

All A's and then a D does not average out to C. Just saying.

'killing' the exam would yield you easily 45+

after reading and hearing on several occasions i've come under the impression that 'killing' the exam regardless of your sac marks would put you high up there. so even if you did average a C, which i highly doubt seeing that you've been getting high A's all year; you'll probably manage a 40-45? (coming from me who's estimating purely from word of mouth)

basically if you ace the exams, you'll get a high score....
your exam matters like 10000000 times more than your SACS do don't worry :D

scaling plays a rather large role for SACs, for example I have heard rumours that a C+/B from MHS goes up to A/A+ [pretty much riding on this :)] But as the other guy said, don't stress too much because your exam plays a MASSIVE role, ace the exam and your SAC scores mean little.

Anyway, writing HEAPS of essays is not the way to go about it, well maybe with the exception of Language Analysis.

Personally, I think the key involves making sure you can address everything they can throw at you, so for your text response, there are maybe, 4 or so themes, most will have overlapping areas, just make sure you are able to write 4 paragraphs about that, and have relevant quotes at your disposal.

It is similar for Section B, the topics may be somewhat broad, but all ultimately ask a very similar question, preparing only a few essays should be ok here.

But the main thing is, revising these essays and say, if you are getting an 8 or so, improving and editing them so that they are really good, and even if you end up writing a different essay, you should be able to identify the mistakes you had made, and not make them again, or whatever is appropriate.

-note that I suck at English, just this is what I think is a good approach
