Title: VCAA 2008 Q6, Different forms of answer
Post by: 4lec on November 05, 2011, 01:24:16 pm
Hey giys its a question about Domain and Range

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vcaa/vce/studies/mathematics/methods/pastexams/2008/2008mm1-w.pdf

VCAA said you should write the answer like this:

df’ = R\{1 , 2}

Itute says the answer should be

(− ∞ 1, )∪ ( 1,2 )∪ ( ,2 ∞)

Any others forms you could write the answer

Domain: -inf<x<1, 1<x<2, 2<x<inf (I think thats allowable?)
But it doesnt matter how you write it, just get it right!

VCAA isn't that strict I don't think... just go with what you're comfortable with.
