Title: plotting points??
Post by: max payne on November 23, 2011, 05:00:04 pm
hi, i know this might be a bit late but when a question asks you to plot a point on a graph, do you merely just plot the point or do you need to connect it with the rest of the graph ( specifically the 2011 further maths exam 2 matrices question 3ci). Just asking this because i was always taught that plotting just meant put the points only but all of my friends connected them, or are both ways right?? thanks

hi
yeah if a question say to plot a graph you plot it, meaning that you dont 'have' to join them together.
i guess your friends just join them together to get a better visual idea (i mean hey if there were dots all over a graph i would want to join them together to know what way a graph is going(and i can also calulate the grad) instantly rather than taking abuot 3 sec to know)

so yeah both ways are right! :D :D :D :D
