Title: Where to do Spesh?
Post by: Moe112 on December 01, 2011, 02:37:19 pm
Hi everyone, so as the title states I was wondering if anyone knew any good places to study Spesh after hours?

My school does not currently offer it and I doubt it will any time soon, I did have plans of doing it at CAE but I'm sure as some of you are aware have axed it from their 2012 Subject selection  :(.

So I am currently stuck in quite the rut, if anyone knows of a place offering it after hours please post your recommendations  ;).

I don't know of any other places offering spesh after hours but have you considered distance education as an option?

They let you do single subjects that your school does not offer. I'm doing spesh through them next year.

This is their website: http://www.distance.vic.edu.au/

Hi Moe112
Yeah, you can do distance education..:P
It's not that bad, you get your task and finish it by due date
and someone will mark it for you..they will provide any useful
info regarding to the topic you studied..I don't know if it's better than
day school as those distance education thingyy are controlled by VCAA,
which means that they are more familiar than those who thought in the school :D
Sorry if my thoughts are wrong & pls correct me..Thanks

Distance Education Centre Victoria is just another government school that offers the VCE - so technically it'd be "controlled by" the Department of Education (and with all schools offering VCE, curriculum being controlled by VCAA). They wouldn't necessarily be more familiar with the content than another other school in Victoria.

Of course, the difference being that they allow students to enroll part-time (or full-time) and obviously the fact that you don't physically go to the school. The fact that you don't have physical classes would probably be a disadvantage (or an advantage in some ways) - but it's better than nothing.

Yea bit of bull if you ask me  >:(.
I thought about Distance Ed but I'm not quite sure how that will work especially with out a teacher/class, I actually tried it this year for General Advanced but decided that the time was better spent on Psych (3&4). I put all my eggs in one basket (Spesh) and now that I might not be able to do it leaves my head spinning.
