Title: 3 Majors at once?
Post by: aes_999 on December 06, 2011, 09:43:36 pm
Hi, I'm usually a lurker at the Monash Uni page, but I really need to get a question answered.
Is it possible to do 3 majors by doing a Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Economics?
I was planning to major in accounting, finance and econometrics if possible.
If not, well, I'll probably take a single degree commerce majoring in finance and accounting.
Thanks for the kind consideration.

hey, i'm not too sure about bcomm and beco but this is pretty similar to what im doing, im doing bcomm/bsc, normally ud just do 1 major for each degree if you're doing a double degree however the uni does allow a triple major if you're eligible. In my case i asked the department after first year and apparently my scores were good enough for do a double major in bcomm, i'd have to overload next sem though, so yeah go ask the department and they should let u know ur options. It differs for each major i think, in my case i've overloaded a unit for each of last semester for my actuarial studies major however it helps that finance and actuarial studies units do overlap quite a bit, so i'm not too sure on your majors. I do suspect though that finance and econometrics overlap quite a bit too and you won't need to overload too many units.

It should be possible, in my degree apparently I'm doing 4 majors, 2 for science and 2 for aerospace engineering
