Which is the recommended tense to use in a text response? Thanks

It really depends on the form and text which you are using.
But from what i've seen, there's almost no chance of using future tense.
For example, I did use past tense in one of my Text Response Sacs (Ransom),
with the main character reminiscing about his childhood experiences,
and how his memories and what it meant for him differ in his childhood
compared to him now as a full grown man.
Another example is that I use present tense (Streetcar named Desire) to write up
a scientific research which focuses on the psychology on the mind
and how the human brain perceives reality.

if you're writing a conventional text response, always use the present tense.
