Having received a place in Arts at UoM, I would like to know any subjects that would be advised to take which Will further my chance in a jd position later on. Furthermore Will constant h1,s be necessary?

I don't think admissions officers really mind what subjects you take in the discipline, as long as you achieve the required marks.
Definitely aim for H1s. Entry to JD is incredibly competitive, and there will be plenty of people who blitz their way through uni who will be applying. You can probably get a H2A every now and again, but you'd want to be as close to an 80%+ average as possible.

Would extra-curricular be important?

Are you asking which subjects will prepare you better for a law degree?
In which case, humanities subjects like history, international studies and politics generally have a decent volume of reading and analysis to prepare you for the kind of studying you'll do in law.

First and foremost just do what you'll enjoy, that's most important.
But it could be worth noting that philosophy subjects will greatly improve your reasoning skills, which is helpful for law. Behind mathematics majors, philosophy majors boast the highest average performance on the LSAT.
