Title: repeating a subject

Hi, i just finished first year in uni melb.
I've already asked the student centre about this but the lady I talked to did not really seem to know what she was talking about.
Is it possible to repeat a subject that you did not fail? I didn't fail but I didn't do very well..
If not, is there any ways to make up for those marks?
I am scared that because of those marks, I won't be able to what I want to do when I've finished my degree.
Or, should I just move on and try harder in 2nd year?
Is there really any ways at all....?

To my knowledge, you cannot repeat subjects which you have passed.
