Hi guys :)
i can't get the answer in the book :(
I'm using the essentials fourth edition text book.
Q. Ben is paid a salary of $37950 per year. How much does he pay each yea in income tax, correct to the nearest dollar?
I get 7557, but the answer is 5385.
tax rates table
tax bracket tax payable (%)
0-6000 0
6001-21600 17
21601-70000 30
-
(21600 - 6001) x .17 = 2651.83
(37950 - 21601) x .3 = 4904.70
2651.83 + 4904.7 = 7556.53 = $7557
I'm making an idiot out of myself if I'm getting this wrong but maybe the textbook is incorrect?
