hey guys, whats the main difference between the thalamus and reticular activating system?
-
RAS - has the important function of alerting the fore-brain about incoming sensory information and in managing alertness and the sleep-wake cycle.
Thalamus - relay station for nearly all sensory information before it is processed by the cortex.
Hope that helped, but I can go into greater detail if you want. :)
