BIO1011_CL_S1_DAY
Lecture01/03-P1
BIO1011_CL_S1_DAY
Lecture02/03-P2
etc?
I'm having a little panic attack/
-
Means your lecture is in two parts?
From what I know, 03-P1 means lecture stream 3 part 1 and 03-P2 is lecture stream 3 part 2
-
I get that the "P" represents a part of a week's lecture, like:
CHM1011_CL_S1_DAY
Lecture01/01
and
CHM1011_CL_S1_DAY
Lecture01/02
and
CHM1011_CL_S1_DAY
Lecture01/03
are one stream that i should attend...
But the notation for BIO1011 on MUTTS is super confusing.
-
Don't get why notation for Bio is confusing. What did it say there?
-
pretty sure lecture 01 means the first lecture of the week and p1/p2 means stream 1 and 2, you only have to go to one of them
-
Here's a print screen of the lectures for BIO1011... even without the clutter of all the other subjects, i'm still confused. :(
-
WOW. Well, I can't help you, I'm in commerce faculty, and none of my subjects have those kinds of confusing (DOUBLE UP?) lectures.
-
Dont worry too much about the lectures if they dont clash with any of your labs cause you can pretty much go to any one of them as long as there is a seat.
-
From what I figured, you choose one of Lecture 01/01, Lecture 01/02, Lecture 01/03-Part1 AND Lecture 01/03-Part2, or Lecture 01/04-Part1 AND Lecture 01/04-Part2.
You then choose one of Lecture02/01, Lecture02/03-Part1 AND Lecture02/03-Part2 or Lecture 02/04-Part1 AND Lecture02/03**-Part2
(Is there a Lecture 02/04-Part2 and a Lecture02/02 missing on Friday?? if there is then this logic makes sense and you just pick one 01's and one 02's.)
I'm not completely sure with this and it may be wrong but I deduced this by looking at the timetabling format and the scheduled dates for the lectures.
-
But why is Lecture01/03-P2 on Monday when Lecture01/03-P1 is on Tuesday? (The printscreen shows all of the lectures only).
Plus, my contact hours for BIO1011 are: Two 1-hour lectures and one 3-hour practical
Oh, Lecture 02/04-Part2 and a Lecture02/02 are set later on Thursday afternoons

If you look at the dates below the lecture, Lecture01/03-P1 runs on Tuesday from 28/02 to 13/03 and Lecture01/03-P2 starts from 19/03 to the end of the semester.

JinXi, thank you so much!! I didn't see the dates, and after a couple of moments staring at the data and double checking with calendar dates, everything was clear.
Just one question to clarify things: if I choose Lecture 01/01 (for example) can I still choose Lecture02/02, or should I stick with the same stream and choose Lecture 01/02?
Thanks!
-
it's mostly pretty arbitrary. the 03 is the stream, P1 and P2 is part 1 and part 2. Doesn't really matter which is p1 and which is p2 they will go through it in a logical order, i.e the first one you have will be p1, the second one p2.
what you are assigned to in science first year doesn't matter that much, you can rock up to whichever stream or lecture you want, so you could go to p1 from stream 1 and part 2 from stream 3 or something, it'll all be roughly the same. Keep in mind though that for a popular subject like bio if you are going to turn up for the most popular times prepare to come early or have to sit on the stairs or something.

As far as I know, Allocate won't allow you to do that. Although, with this being said, you can still attend a lecture that isn't on your timetable (if it doesn't clash) I doubt you would get in trouble. I'm pretty sure 01/02 and 02/02 would be the same lecture, so it shouldn't be a problem (hope I'm not wrong...)

Thanks guys
Here, you all deserve some rainbow cake :)
