I don't understand why atoms with higher mass have a lower absorbance.
Is it because heavier atoms have lower frequencies, which results in a lower absorbance?
I thought you'd need more energy to excite the atoms that have a higher molecular mass (I think I'm using 'energy' too freely here, but I hope you catch my gist.)
