Title: Is SO2 a volatile compound?
Post by: amilss on March 26, 2012, 04:55:11 pm
If it was left in a conical flask before being titrated with, would you lose some of the SO2?
Therefore the amount of SO2 in a sample of wine would be underestimated??

I think so, yes. SO2 is somewhat soluble in water, but can easily bubble out of solution, especially if the conical flask is left out in the open.
