Title: Time series question
Post by: TheDeanster on April 14, 2012, 04:22:00 pm
To whomever can help, I need help with time series...

When a question gives you a diagram with a time series graph on it and it asks you to give a short description of the time series in terms of its trend and patterns, do you just mention that it's a positive/negative secular trend and one of the following of cyclic, seasonal or random? If not, then what more do you need to add?

Also, how would you answer a question like "Why would it be appropriate to use 12 terms?" given that we desire to fit a trend line using a moving average.

Thanks in advance.

SPLIT topic, please do not re-open threads that are like 5 years old...

I just needed some help, not dry remarks...
Plus I have not been exposed to ATARNOTES before so I'm sorry...
