Title: Help!
Post by: sam0001 on May 17, 2012, 06:00:52 pm
A student runs an unknown saccharide through hplc. The retention time matches the retention time of galactose, recorded the previous week. Wh cannot it be assumed that the sample is indeed galactose?

Depends on the conditions of when both samples were run. Differences in temp, pressure and level of packing of the non polar grains in the column could alter the outcome.
