Title: Using the DBE for fatty acids
Post by: VCE_2012 on May 26, 2012, 11:10:47 pm
Hey, guys does the DBE formula work normally for fatty acids? I noticed I that I had to minus 1 from the formula to get the number of double bonds in fatty acids. Can someone explain why this happens too. ; )

That's the C=O in the carboxyl group.
