Title: Functions of left and right side of each lobe
Post by: ethanyong on June 11, 2012, 01:43:27 pm
Does anyone know the specific functions of each side of the lobes in the cerebral cortex?
I can't seem to find anything in my text book.
Thanks!

Do you mean hemispheric specialization?
Or do you mean each cortical lobe such as the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital.

The left hemisphere is to control logic, mathematical skills, analysis, motor control of the right hand side, language skills
The right hemisphere is to do with spatial manipulation, interpretation of emotion, the appreciation of artwork and creativity, motor control of the left hand side of the body. (I remember this because all the left handed people I know seem to be quite talented artists)

Oooooh! Know that in the frontal lobe the left PMC controls the right side of the body and the left side controls the right.
Umm, in the PAC know that one side recieves verbal sounds (left) and non verbal sounds (right) In the PSC know that one side recieves sensory info from the left and the other from the right. Know that in the PVC one side recieves info from one visual field and vise versa.

Too lazy to correct my spelling, sorry.
