Title: Data Analysis
Post by: seretide on June 22, 2012, 03:32:48 am
Hey guys!

Just trying to work out my subjects for next semester and people where talking about Data Analysis? I'm not sure about this subject, but has anyone completed it or experienced it? Just a general overview of the subject like assesment, difficulty and how enjoyable?

Thanks!

I haven't done it but i read about it in the handbook. To me it sounds pretty easy in terms of difficulty, the assesments throughout the sem aren't that necessary to do well in because they are only worth 5% so your result ultimately depends on the exam which can be a good or a bad thing. However the content does seem boring (but almost all breadth subjects are boring). Overall i think it;s better then most subjects :)

I don't get why anyone would willingly put themselves through statistics unless they needed it as a prereq or enjoy being bored to death... It is not enjoyable, at all. Do not do it. The only advantage is that Sharon the lecturer is very good when compared to the lecturers the biomed kids get for stats.. There are many more other enjoyable subjects out there, cross this one off your options. Trust me on this :P

I agree on your opinion about statistics in general.  Luckily for the both of us, there aren't many undergraduate stats majors and none active on this site.  :P

Disclaimer: None that I know of, of course.  If there are, I'm hiding in my zombie apocalypse shelter for a while.
