Title: Science Subjects Confusion
Post by: anderbe on June 22, 2012, 02:03:23 pm
Hi All,

I have recently mad the seemingly huge decision (in my tiny world at least) to drop chemistry after hating it since year 10 and doing it every year. Unfortunately now in Uni my choices are limited as to what I can replace it with..So far next semester my subjects are Mind, Brain and Behaviour 2, Evolution and The Genetics of Life, and a breadth of Intercultural Communication...any suggestions of a new science subject to slot in? (if it helps I want to go into a post grad degree in speech pathology)

have you considered BIO10001: biology of flora and fauna? if you can't choose anything it's probably an okay option to stick to

How about maths? Calculus 1 runs in semester 2 if you've done Methods in VCE.

There's a wide variety of choices, if you're interested in IT, why not try one of the IT subjects. Aurelian's right, maths is also another good alternative in a Science degree.

Anyone know the due date we have to register our subjects in for?

You can keep changing subjects without penalty up to the census date which is the 31st of August from memory. Timetables open on the 25th June, so if your subject has pracs/tutes and you have a preferred time, probably best to do it before then before the classes fill.

Thanks! I'm probably going to choose them all tomorrow.
