Whats the differences between forced vibration and resonance?

So we have an object, let's say a guitar string. If we apply a force that's constantly and consistently varying, the guitar string will vibrate at the same frequency as that force. That's forced vibration. (and in turn, the vibration of the guitar string forces a vibration in the sound box of the guitar)
So immediately after we stop applying that force, that guitar string will still be vibrating - but it'll end up vibrating at what's called it's natural frequency.
If the frequency of the forced vibration happens to be the same as the natural frequency, that's when resonance occurs.
