hi,
I've just finishe year 12 and got an ENTER score of 75.3. I am really hoping to get into Monash's Bachelor Of Science this year. According to their site the clear-in of last year was 75.1. What do you reckon my chances are to actually get into this course? I put it as my top preferennce but im worried now I might not get in.
Thanks in advance.

What's the point of worrying? You can't change the outcome. So why worry? Keep it as your first preference of course and hope that it's enough to get you in. If its not then their are other avenues that you can take.
I think you'll be fine and you shouldn't worry. Enjoy the next 20 or so days and don't worry about something you cant' change :)

thanks Dr. Phil

You should be more appreciative of advice given to you.
If you want a probability, it would probably be a 60-95% chance that you can make it in.

thanks man

Um trust me. Things make a lot more sense when you stop worrying about things you can't change. You end up enjoying the next 20 days (which would be 20 less days of your life).
You are borderline and you should get in.

Yep you're right about the whole things making sense when you stop worrying lol...
Afterall this is Australia, there are plenty of paths you can take to reach your goals or your course, so don't worry too much but there is a chance you will get in :)
Good luck !!

That was just the clearly-in...you were above it.
You would definitely be well considered for middle-band if the cutoff did get higher this year (which it won't, by a large amount as larger courses [ie, larger sample sizes] tend to limit variance).

That's the problem. He wont make it through middle bound as he hasn't done any scientific subjects/any maths above further. This is why hes hoping to get through the clear-in selection.

He didn't mention that -.-
Still, a very close to clearly-in ENTER does put him in strong contention...

huh.. so you have to meet middle band requirement to be considered for second round and third round offers? =/

Nope, you are getting confused now. Middle-band offers are made in first round offers too.
When the course decides to allocate places to their applicants, they set aside a certain number for the middle-band. They look at people who did not quite make the clearly-in, but did particularly well in the pre-requisite subjects. Once they have made the decision which applicants will get offers, they post this up, and these are the first-round offers.
Applicants with offers can either accept the offer, reject it, or defer it. The ones that are rejected and deferred open up new spots for the course. This initiates a second round, where new spots are allocated to applicants next in line. This cycle continues until all the spots of the course are given out (or until they can't be fucked).
