Apologies if this has already been posted or if its old news, but VCAA has released the exam cover for the 2012 IT Apps exam: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/exams/2012%20Nov%20exam%20covers/2012itapps-cov.pdf
This year there appears to be 12 short answer questions (last year & in 2010 there were 11).
