Title: Solving on Ti-nspire
Post by: supermanflyaway on November 10, 2012, 05:38:22 pm: How do you solve an equation with a restricted domain? Especially with trig equations, when they normally give a general solution, how do you restrict this? Thanks!

Post by: b^3 on November 10, 2012, 05:41:00 pm: If we wanted to solve $2\cos(x+\frac{\pi}{2})=1$ over $0\leq x \leq 2\pi$ , then we used the normal solve but add $|0\leq x \leq 2\pi$ on the end so that we have:
$solve(2\cos(x+\frac{\pi}{2})=1,x)|0\leq x \leq 2\pi$
