Stuck on ideas for extended practical investigation on motion
thought of a pendulum but it's to vague because its so straight forward that there isn't much to dicuss

Try doing an experiment to calculate g, there are many ways to do that. I did it by rolling a ball down a ramp, and there was lots to discuss with rotational kinetic energy as the ball does not grip the ramp properly, not to mention all of the measuring uncertainties.
