Title: Which textbook is better in terms of explanations and understanding?

Heinemann Chemistry 3& 4(4th edition) or Studyon Chemistry 2?

I like Heinemann better than Jacaranda StudyOn.

I find that Heinemann's more easier to understand. StudyOn seems a bit rushed IMHO.

Plus the cover looks better.

I like the heinemann one, probably because it was the one I had, but I always liked it more than all the other ones I borrowed off my chem teacher to try and learn wth food chem was (that AOS was so hard x_x)

The old editions, heinemann is easy to understand but sometimes they skip/skim important bits. Or only include it in red in those side bits where you're likely to ignore it. And it has some really awesome pictures :D (if the new one still has these construction guys on scaffolding to highlight how useful aluminium is (will be unit 4), have a look at one of them's hair. xD)

so long as it is not Nelson.... that book was extremely dull and unhelpful...

EDIT: and that was at 1/2
3/4 is progressively darker...

We're using the Heinemann book at school next year. Used the Year 11 equivalent this year for 1/2.

n i dun like it........
but cant change the schools choice bro....chem is jus hard alll throughout

We use heinemann but last years yr 12s used nelson so one of them sold me theirs for $5. It sucks. Heinemann>Nelson

nelson is REALLY bad in my opinion...

lol found out recently that my school used to use Heinemann but changed to nelsons a few years ago D:
