What is the Lowest Atar for Law?
Thanks, don't care about universities, Victoria would be a preference.
-
Well pretty sure vic uni is low 80s. Australian catholic uni was the first year of law this year and they had low to mid 80s as well. Other unis are low to very high 90s
-
According to the course search on vtac website the lowest atar requirement for law was at Vic Uni which required 70.1 :)
-
ANU Law/commerce cut off was 96
And ANU is arguably considered one of the best law schools in Australia, so i'd definitely suggest that you give it a go.

WOW, 70?
That's nearly shameful haha, are they a private University or something?

I managed to get into ANU Law/commerce with an atar of 94.5 and the cut off was 96 (I didn't have SEAS).

I don't think i'll be able to achieve 95+, but I'm aiming for it haha.
Realistically i'd be looking at high 80's low 90's
And yes, i've heard Melbourne and ANU are the best for law

No, they just don't have a very high demand, especially since there are already so many other law schools in Victoria
-
I'm assuming Melbourne or Monash is the best?

Haha wasn't trying to be mean, just wasn't expecting law to be so low.
Always been under the impression that medicine and Law was the hardest to get into

Yeah, I think most Go8 uni's are harder to get into for any course. But a lot of people tell me that experience beats the uni you choose.

ACU LAW was in the 80's for clearly in however if you do an early achievers application and get accepted (everyone i know who applied got accepted) and get 25 in english and 59 atar score you can get into ACU LAW
my friend got into acu law with a 64.95 lol?

Be careful about the law profession. It is already over-saturated with graduates since almost every university has a law program. Asides from it being possibly one of the driest and rigorous (meaning you actually HAVE to spend an enormous amount of time reading- you cannot pass by simply using your natural aptitude) programs out there; the competition for ANY grad position/clerkships is ruthless.
So if you are looking at law, my advice is to begin employing good study habits EARLY (meaning high school). It will not only get you a much better atar (which may get you into a better law school), but will mean you can take these habits into university. There is no point in aiming to scrape into any law degree and then cruising through the program - youd be lucky to get a janitor's job in a small law firm.
