Title: Skipping lectures
Post by: 8039 on February 28, 2013, 11:33:18 pm
I'm in a sort of dilemma right now, I've chosen a subject called "Famine in the modern world" as a subject to boost up my grades and Introductory Macroeconomics.

Both subjects have 1 stream of lectures, at the same time (they clash). So I don't know what to do. I thought about skipping one subjects lectures and attending the other but can't decide which.

On one hand, if I recall commerce subject have very good lectopedia recordings, and the subject coordinator warned me about skipping 'Famine' lectures as they will have guest speakers etc

So which should I skip? It's too late/frustrating to change subjects now

You can still swap classes. It's not really too late considering you haven't started classes. If you're not willing to do that, I recommend you go to the FIMW lectures as opposed to Intro Macro, just because

From what I recall, Intro Micro had lectures recorded but Gareth wrote a lot of things on a board which wasn't recorded on Lectopia, making it a pain in the ass to be an online-learner.

Ideally, I suggest you found out how good the Intro Macro recordings are, and then decide whether you want to change the class or skip the lectures.

If it's not too troublesome you can still change subjects. Have you thought about attending a different lecture with the same content, but in a different time slot you are not registered for? (Cuz they don't check attendance anyways) If it makes your life easier.

I did intro macro last semester and the lectures are recorded just fine. You won't miss out on anything :)
