Tasmania Jones ruined my vce
-
My only motivation to do Methods past exams was to find out what happened to Tassy
-
Tasmania Jones, I really hope some day you can solve your own problems
-
sometimes when i got a question wrong, it was relieving to think that Tasmania Jones has finally died.
-
Tasmania Jones needs to get laid

Tasmania Jones ruined my vce
Aren't you only in year 11 though? So he's yet to ruin it haha
Edit: just realized you're doing 3/4 this year... I feel so stupid now
-
Hahah. So true @Rish_007
-
I bet the exam authors think they're funny. They aren't.

Every ATARNotes author just had a little cry on the inside. :'(

Can someone explain?

Tasmania Jones is the ever unfolding, exciting tale told by the VCAA exam writers. You'll see him recover rare diamonds and emeralds, grow wheat, battle against snakes and build desalination plants. The next installment will be coming out late spring, at a Methods Exam 2 near you.

But... You haven't even done a proper VCE exam yet? ???

One of the methods teachers at my school is actually responsible for Tasmania Jones.
I'm being 100% serious lol, he's the one who actually invents/makes questions incorporating Tasmania Jones in them lol, but apart form that, the other teachers at my school haven't done anything that stands out. XD

That's interesting because I understood that teachers who write for the VCAA examinations are not allowed to be teaching or tutoring or lecturing in that subject in the same year.

May not be teaching yr12 methods perhaps?
-
Perhaps he supplies creative ideas to the exam writers, but doesn't actually participate in the actual exam question formulation? Like an adviser?
Also, you guys are getting too down on Tasmania. Personally, I admire his amazing luck (he always survives by the skin of his teeth, no matter how risky the venture- see the snake bite question, the savage insect question), his courage in attempting the seemingly impossible, his mathematical prowess (I mean seriously, the only way he could have survived that snake bite was to instantly calculate the optimal route through the jungle/beach MENTALLY- none of that CAS crap we mortals have to use), his huge compassion (building a desalination plant for a native community) and his entrepreneurship (starting a wheat farm- what a legend). Plus, he's famous (his sister is making statues of him to sell, no doubt to his eager legion of fans from across the state), yet he continues doing what he does best: adventuring around the globe in search of fortune and adventure.
TL;DR- Tasmania Jones is a top bloke.

Imagine one year Tasmania Jones really dies...everyone would be panicking because they think their calculations are wrong ;)

I don't think the VCAA examinations thing is true, cause this teacher is currently teaching two year 12 Methods classes.

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/pages/vce/exams/exampanel.aspx
Anyone involved in teaching, tutoring or lecturing students or preparing practice exams in Units 3 and 4 of the same study is not eligible to be on an exam panel.
Also this document details some of the (pretty strict) requirements for being on the exam panel too: http://ssms.vic.edu.au/ASR_Link_Files/2013%20SETVET%20info%20kit%20v1.doc It's pretty interesting actually
I would suspect that it might have been something he did in previous years in that case.

Ooh I did not know that.
One of his sons is in my year level so I'll ask him tomorrow I guess.
Thanks

he's like the Chuck Norris of the methods world
