Title: Need Help with this question.

Just doing the 2008 Specialist Maths exam 2 VCAA ,

I was finding it fine untill i got to question 17 in the multi choice, ive looked at worked solutions on itute but cant understand how they got started.

I get theres a ratio of 2:1 but thats about it, i need help talking this problem, all help is appreciated :)!

QR = QO + OR = OR - OQ
0.5PQ = 0.5(PO + OQ) = 0.5OQ - 0.5OP

OR - OQ = 0.5OQ - 0.5OP
OR = 1.5OQ - 0.5OP
OR = 3q/2 - 1p/2
