Cant decide which one to pick over the summer, could anybody who has done either tell me what they are like? thanks

I'm thinking of doing Finance 1, it seems pretty chill (well relatively) from all reports and doesn't have a lot of contact hours as opposed to Flora so you can still have a decent holiday
-
ye that is what i was thinking. Then i thought 2 weeks for flora (+1 week for exam) or 4 weeks for finance (+ 1 week for exam). Originally i was going to do finance but then that got me thinking. However the long days in flora is really unappealing..
-
huh wasnt aware of the 2 weeks for flora
i would do 4 weeks though as i personally want some 'balance' in my days and its really 3 hours per day for Finance so its not too bad.
do you when summer exams are? is there a swotvac period?
-
ye i like it spread out too. I have no idea about the exams though...

Flora of Victoria is pretty good, I put next to no effort into it (except the assignment due the first week of semester 1) and pulled off a H1. It's definitely interesting. The only downside is that having it as a Feb intensive instead of a 'traditional' summer subject means that by the time you get to the end of semester 1 you really need a break from uni since you've been studying a lot longer than everyone else - though I guess you could say that about all summer subjects, really. The assignment is pretty straightforward, the pracs almost always finish early, and Mike Bayly is a great lecturer.

Finance is pretty chill. Easy to stay on top of lectures even if you miss them and the exam is written the same every year. The real bitch of the subject is probably the assignments that require little of the coursework to do-just painful research and referencing.
