Title: Is being part of the Alumni worth it?
Post by: m_chellen on November 09, 2013, 10:47:50 am
So my school is still pretty new. Next year will be the first year that we're establishing an Alumni and the cost, at the moment, is
$30 - annual
$75- one payment until age 25, another $75 payment till 30
$150 - one payment for up to 30
$400 - life time
I just wanted to ask others if the alumni really pays off? How does it compare against just arranging to meet with your old pals and are you glad that you're apart of it? Pros and Cons? Would you recommend it to other year 12s?

Thanks!

Woah, you have to pay to be a part of the alumni?! O_o wow, that's steep. At my school, it doesn't cost us anything and we still get ongoing career support, should we need it as well as meet ups and stuff, organised and funded by the school.

If I was you I'd do the $75 thing. It's probably the best deal and you can try it out for the next few years and then decide whether you should pay again. $75 also isn't a massive loss if it doesn't turn out well.

I'm not 100% sure if it'll be worth it or not but I've paid $100 for the same deal as you until the age of 25.

$100 for a bit of piece of mind that you're not missing out on anything is worth it imo, and for you, it's $75.

How have you found it so far?
