What are the effects of change in the internal environment?

What are the effects of change in the internal environment?

Quickly, they may include:
- Corporate culture changes
- Policy changes
- Management style changes
- A change to organisational structure (formally known as a internal structural change)

That is the stock standard to go with, but I think it is highly recommendable in learning what these changes would actually involve. For example, a change in corporate culture may involve the adaptation of new rituals such as regular social gatherings, e.g a barbeque or beers on a Friday night!

What are the effects of change in the internal environment?

flatter management structures as generally change results in the elimentaion of middle mgmt positions, outsourcing, there is an impact on corporate culture, hrm: recruitment and selection will be changed to suit the requiremnts of the organistaion as a result of the change, training must be offered to existing employees so they can work in a way that reflects and embraces the change, perfromance appraisals and reward systems that reinforce the new behaviours must be put in place etc
operations mgmt: with new advances in technology there must be accompanied changes in the production process, in the way its organised, there is an emphasis on quality assurance- must be an organisation wide focus on ensuring the products meet customer expectations.

these a some of the many ways you can talk about the effect of change on the internal environment.

What I was actually meant to ask was what the effects were in operations management.

Change in operations:
- Use of new 'greener' technology which minimises carbon emissions.
- Change to production processes (e.g. use of CAD or CAM)
- Change in inventory control, such as adopting a Just-in-time approach.
- Holistic application of TQM.
- Application of a new facilities design and layout (could perhaps be the change itself)

Moving this thread the BM forum. We're trying to keep this section of the forum for the 2013 exam discussion. :)

- compare and contrast the use of mediation, arbitration, conciliation & when they're applicable.
- evaluate the effectiveness of collective agreements above the use of industry wide awards
- explain the the processes undertaken in a typical grievance procedure, when they come to play, who is involved and what weight does a G.P hold in resolving conflict in a workplace

Wtf, what exam have the first and third exam come off? The only time I have ever seen mediation, arbitration and conciliation discussed in business is BRIEFLY as the role of Fair Work but nothing about a comparison... thats legal studies.

The third question.. no idea, again maybe a complex way of asking the role of Fair Work or the AIRC (depending on centralised or decentralised) to resolve disputes

Would be extremely surprised to see similar worded questions on the exam, as they are barely mentioned in the study design.

Dat seperatorquestion/10.

Haha grievance procedures just refer to systematic processes that are implemented to address an employee complaint within the organisation. It's weight is that typically, it is one of the first conflict-resolution methods implemented by an organisation that has established a collective agreement.

Collective agreements are more effective than industry-wide awards as they allow for greater flexibility for LSOs that can then implement incentives to enhance productivity.

Funnigly enough in BM I am pretty sure that mediation and conciliation are used interchangeably.

LMFAO, this is not legal studies BRUHH,

all we need to know is that Fairwork australia is the governing body that arbitrate over disputes. this is common when half the kents in the city are protesting. thus FWA says OI you two come to an agreement now, yet alan joyce says NO, they are expecting too much, then FWA makes a legally binding agreement on behalf of both parties. that is what arbitration is.
