what does pH tell the extent of hydolysis of hydrochloric acid..
is hydrochloric acid, a strong or weak acid?
-
It's strong, so it'd have a low pH...
-
HCl is strong acid, CH3COOH is a weak acid.
You know that and you'll be fine for unit 2 if not then also unit 3.
-
thanks!

In Unit 2 and 3, all you need to know is that
,
and
are all strong acids.
All other acids are considered "weak" unless otherwise stated or given to you by the backwards arrow.
It's only in Unit 4 where you learn about
where you can differentiate what is actually "strong" and "weak".
