Title: Types of Context pieces

Hey all,

We're just starting on our context AOS and i was wanting to write a creative writing piece.

Could anyone suggest some types of creative writing and how best to go about them?

-Show don't tell - subtle story telling, hinting and implying things rather than saying them outright
-Write from your own experiences for more personal and thoughtful writing
-Relate ideas to your text without actually mentioning it

Creative is really anything that isn't factual - anything that uses fictional characters, a fictional narrator, fictional events, fictional settings. So you can do a short story, which is a pretty straightforward creative, or you could do something slightly more like a traditional essay, only given by a fictional narrator in a fictional setting. For example, a speech by an intellectual or a discussion piece or interview by a journalist. These may include persuasive or expository elements, but what makes them essentially creative is that you have to commit your entire writing style to the fictional narrator and construct you've chosen.
