Title: The difference between elaborative rehearsal and elaborative encoding?

Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering how I could adequately sum up the difference between elaborative rehearsal and elaborative encoding?
I know it seems like a relatively straight-forward question but I'm really confused :/ also, where is everyone up to in terms of SACS in 3/4 psych? I've had two and I didn't do too well on either of them  :-[

Elaborative rehearsal and encoding are very similar as they both are a process in which you link new information to old and new information that's already stored in our LTM hence making memorization easier and more memorable. Easier to learn and recall. Elaborative encoding is all of the above but is utilized in the encoding process during STM? And elaborative rehearsal is when information is being rehearsed for it to move to LTM? Uh i'm probably wrong, someone please clarify! We have our ERA coming up next term the one thats /50. So far i had two SACs as well, and they were  both /25 and got above 20 for both :D
