Yeah, the title pretty much sums it up. I don't think there are many forumers here that do Food, but I'll give it a try.
I'm currently topping my class (I'm pretty sure I am) and the divide is pretty big... I really want to get over 40 to help even out the really bad scaling.
Can any one help me out?

To get over 40 for this subject you need to get A+,A+,A+ for your SACs(90+), SAT(at least 40/45), and Exam (90+). If you get below that, then its gona it scale down by heaps like 7.
This subject is not fair as your SAT are worth 40% and are marked by your school teacher, so in other words if you have a tough teacher than its bad luck.

I did Food and Technology last year ending up getting a 49raw. The best hint I can give you is to attend lecture offers at Access Education($35). The presnter are text books authors and examiners so you will get the best hints preparing for the exams and very good notes(orange from memory).
Its probably too late to write notes now, I suggest you to do heaps of practice exams as the exams questions are the same from year to year-like define and give examples food spoilage, food posioning, primary, secondary processing, packaging, role of government(this area is where student perform worse in) and the list goes on.
Also make sure you get Food and Tecnology Checkpoints, Leading Edge and the study design along with vcaa exams and assessment report-These are like bible for geting a 50 in this subject.
I suggest that you buy a small exercise book and make a glossary of terms. I think I got 87 definitions last year, make sure you remember all the terms by heart that you can explain in your own words.

I'm doing food this year too. I hope I can get over 45 for it...
So far I'm aceing all my SAC's. A bit concerned about my SAT though since it's worth so much. I'm gonna try and suck up to my food teacher since she's going to be deciding 40% of my overall study score xD
Is anyone else doing food? I need a buddy so that we can motivate each other to get 45+'s oh and plus consulting! ^_^
