Hello,
Currently, I'm in year 10, next year I'll be doing 3&4 Apps without the 1&2 as I've heard that it is fairly easy to catch onto and that not doing 1&2 will not overly disadvantage me.
My question is in year 12 will I be disadvantaged if I pursue SD but have not done 1&2 Apps, however I have done 3&4 Apps?
Should 3&4 Apps adequately prepare me for SD?
Thanks.

You will be fine completing 3&4 SD without 1&2. 1&2 is a waste tbh.
The only thing to look out for is a new study design. I'm pretty sure 2016 is the first year of the new proposed study design for both IT subjects.

I did it! It's a subject with lots of logical theory, tbh. Don't worry about units 1/2.

Been awhile since i've done it but theres little overlap that will impact your grade significantly.

You should definitely do it, especially if you have a particular interest in how computers work. I'm currently doing Software Development 3 and 4 without doing IT 1 and 2 last year and I'm ranked first in my class ^___^
It's a subject that rests nicely between legal studies and IT Apps on its theory component. Its practical side (coding) is very fun, I love it!
