I also have a question:
the square roots of i - 1 are 2^(1/4)cis(-5pi/8) and 2^(1/4)cis(3pi/8)
Hence find the exact value of cos (3pi/8)
I have a feeling it is related to that 2^(1/4)cis(3pi/8) root of i-1, but not sure how to apply
