Title: To kill a mocking bird help
Post by: knightrider on May 20, 2014, 10:30:20 pm
Conflict clearly defines who the heroes and villains are.

How to write a context essay on this prompt and what are some good examples to use from the text and outside text examples

BP1) Conflict between Atticus and Bob Ewell
      - Discuss the trial scene of the novel and use examples (cannot think of one right now)
      - Discuss the scene where Bob Ewell spits in Atticus' face and how Atticus does not react in any way to this and he "carried on like a gentleman". Ultimately, this exemplifies the severity of Bob Ewell's immaturity, portraying him as the villain and how it epitomises Atticus as the hero.

BP2) Conflict between the children and Mrs Dubose
      - She constantly abuses the children with arguments stating their father is "lawin' for niggers" etc etc (There are really good quotes she states)
      - State that through this conflict, she ultimately is the hero, use quotes from Atticus like: "she's the bravest person I knew" etc

Hope this helps to start off :)
