Title: Can someone give me a few points

I'm trying to write a speech and the topic is "People sacrifice themselves in order to belong". I'm kind of confused as to how to write a speech on this, should I agree or disagree with it or should I sort of show both sides of the topic. Also does anyone have any points to write In this speech?

my school is still doing language analysis but we are doing identity and belonging next. From your topic I think it would be good to start with how people sacrifice their own personality, interests, etc. so that they can belong to the group (i.e. be more popular with them). Their interests/personality might be too obscure to fit in so they have to change themselves to belong.
