From the handbook:
'Progression: Students must normally complete 50 points of study at one subject year level before proceeding to the next subject year level.'
I was wondering how strict the university is on this rule. Is it possible to get permission to avoid it?

Yep - I enrolled in a third year breadth subject in my first semester of second year without having to ask anyone.

I'm a first year student and I'd like to take a third year subject next semester (which I satisfy the prerequisites for and can enrol in), and I was wondering how strict the university is on this rule. Is it possible to get permission to avoid it?
I enrolled in a second year subject in first semester this year and the uni let me. I know other people who've done the same.
Indeed, a friend of mine is doing a third year science subject right now in first year. Dunno how on earth he got to do that.
