Thoughts on exam?
-
The questions off the top of my head:
What are two stakeholders of an organisation, their interests and what things must organisations take into consideration regarding ethical and socially responsible management?
What management structure should the dude take?
What management style would best suit him?
-
Increased costs associated with becoming ethically and socially responsible... This will effect customers and shareholder. ... management style used consultative and management structure used divisional.. As geographically divisions
-
i did autocratic on the style, because the case study said he needed a 'swift' response or else it would decrease competitiveness. As long as you justified it, then it doesn't matter
-
This exam was really do-able, VCAA did well.
You'd use geographical and then divisional though.
Last year's A+ cut off mark was 74%, I'd expect it to be higher this year.
-
Yeah, exam was decent! Easier than past years I think. Scribbled extremely furiously for 2 hours. No Kotter though which is surprising!
Employees and community/society as stakeholders.
Consultative style.
Functional structure.
For all the above questions, it doesn't really matter what answer you give as long you justify them appropriately!
-
Uh oh :/
I did consultative style because you don't want to further isolate the employees and worsen productivity levels compared to what they already are.
Divisional structure because it said multiple locations in Australia.
And stakeholders for that Aus Aircon q. or whatever the LSO was employees and customers.

Ugh I thought this exam was so much worse than last year's! The questions seemed to be worded so oddly, and really, define "number of customer complaints"? (What did people write for that?)
Also forgot the judgement on the low-risk v high-risk ugh

For number of customer complaints I wrote something along the lines of..
'The number of customer complaints refers to the numerical value of people who have criticized a particular or overall area of an organisations performance. An increase in customer complaints suggests that users of a product/service provided by an organisation are unhappy.'
Hope that deserves one mark.

Was sooooo lucky with high-risk v low-risk. Was like the only thing I didn't properly cover. Guessed that it referred to management styles, or could...

Thoughts on exam
- yeah good overall, agree on the wording
- i think i lost around around 10 marks which MIGHT place me in the A+ range still (according to last year but unknown for this year)
- that 10 marker ive been practicing for was a waste due to the fact i forgot to mention a fragment of the question ( **** )
- my handwriting was pathetic. I pray to the GODS that are VCAA that they can read my writing. I made a great effort to use very single line in every question and i intend to get a good mark from it.

Anyone else's hand in pain after the exam?

Anyone else's hand in pain after the exam?
yep. definitely. my hand was throbbing as well as having dots of blue ink from spinning my pen
-
Anyone else's hand in pain after the exam?
I barely finished the exam because of how sore my hand got! Had to rush answers and put short and bad answers down just to finish on time! The annoying thing for me, was that I knew all the content on it, just couldn't physically write that fast!

what's the answer to the link between the mission statement and planning?
what practices did you guys write for the last question in response to:
1. improving quality to lessen inferior products
2. new focus on materials management to reduce waste
3. establishment phase for future staffing needs
-
Hey guys with the Zac case regarding the management style, was it appropriate that I chose a participative management style although the case study said he needed to act 'swiftly'? I thought about it now and an autocratic or consultative would have been better as he can then make quicker decisions. However, would I be safe if I justified the participative style? I talked about providing them ownership and sense of responsibility which can address the issues they were facing. (were the issues regarding quality and......? I forgot)

Hey :)
For the link between mission statement and planning, I first defined the mission statement as being the outline of the organisations reason for existence and what not and planning being the formalised process to produce a result in the form of integrated systems of decisions... Thus there is a direct correlation between planning and the mission statement as planning is basically the way the organisation goes about justifying and achieving it.
Lmao.. probably just a load of shit but meh ;D

i think the autocratic management style would be most appropriate in that the manager had to act 'swiftly', therefore best because the decision is made by one person
constultative would be too time consuming as the manager would have to consult with employees
